Prospects of methodological change in the economic theory of the XXI century
ABSTRACT ▼
The state and prospects of evolution of methodology of economic theory are considered. The content and social significance of scientific research in economic theory as a process of objective cognition of socio-economic reality, the achievement of truth, are revealed. Methodological changes are analyzed in the context of the transformation of the object and subject of science, the system of categories, the paradigm of researches. The conclusion about the objective need to formulate an updated methodology of economic theory in response to the acute challenges of development of economy and society in the 21st century is substantiated. The societal demand for economic theory and its methodology increases when there are dramatic socio-economic transformations and largescale changes in economic relations. Theoretical evidences are provided that for systematic cognition of present and future of economy the application of a scientific methodology that enables the synergetic study of economic systems are required. The synergistic methodological paradigm becomes the most promising. Prospects of methodological changes in modern economic theory are proved to be connected with the expansion of the possibilities of categorical analysis of the subject of science. These points outline the transcendental content of such fundamental economic categories as value and capital. Value is the objective basis on which the categorical series of economic theory emerges and are formed. The necessity to expand the role of metaphysical reflections and interdisciplinary methodological approaches has been highlighted and characterized. It is shown that interdisciplinary research allows to bring economic theory closer to solving socially important problems. The author's vision of the methodological problem of demarcation in modern economic theory is proposed. The methodological triad of "objective reali-ty - unbiased analysis - reliable results" comes to the fore.
