On the domestic terminology of basic economics
ABSTRACT ▼
The article studies the influences of extralinguistic factors that determine the di-rections of formation and development of the domestic terminology of basic economic science. The authors’ approach to structuring the components of the domestic terminology system is proposed, according to which the following are dis-tinguished: a number of commonly used economic terms and concepts; a number of terms used by professional economists; a number of terms that are obsolete and live in the history of economics; a number of terms of natural and social sciences, which entered as a result of the application of interdisciplinary approaches in basic economics; and a number of borrowed foreign terms and concepts.
This approach made it possible to identify and update the semantic and methodological problems of interpretation and application of certain terms and concepts. In particular, the authors substantiate the expediency of supplementing the terminological range of basic economics with such terms as: "unstable economic sys-tem" – to distinguish transitional economic systems, which are characterized by low efficiency of mechanisms that provide stabilization potential of the system; and "financialization", which is used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of the consequences of the gravitational shift of the economic system of industrial capi-talism into financial capitalism.
The purpose of the article is to single out series (groups) of the domestic terminology of basic economics, and to clarify the economic meaning of certain terms and features of this terminology and the need for its standardization and international comparability.
Substantiated the necessity of further terminological modernization, standardization and standardization of the domestic terminology of basic economic science in order to ensure its compliance with the terminological standards of world eco-nomics and further development of Ukrainian economics.
Keywords:terminological system, basic economic science, cost, unstable economic system, financialization, devaluation, benefit.
